Three letter styles
Raised letters stand on top of the base: the classic look, easy to print in two colors by changing the filament at the right layer.
Cut-out letters go through the base, so you can see through them. Inner parts of letters such as O, A or B fall out, so script and bold fonts work best.
Flush letters are embedded in the base at the same height, in another color. The surface is smooth on both sides: ideal for printers with an AMS or MMU.
Tips for good keychains
Script fonts such as Pacifico or Lobster join their letters, which makes the keychain stronger. A base of 3 mm and a ring wall of at least 2 mm hold up well to daily use.
For two colors on a single-nozzle printer, use raised letters and add a color change at the layer where the letters start.
Frequently asked questions
Is the keychain generator free?
Yes. You can create and download keychains for free, without an account and without watermarks.
Can I use my own font?
Yes. Upload a TTF, OTF or WOFF file. The font is read in your browser and is never uploaded to a server.
How do I print it in two colors?
Download the ZIP and import both STL files together into your slicer as one object, then assign a filament to each part. With raised letters you can also add a filament change at the layer where the letters begin.
What size should the hole be?
Most split key rings fit through a 4 mm hole. Use 5 or 6 mm for thicker rings or a lanyard.
Why do parts of some letters fall out in the cut-out style?
The inside of letters such as O, A or B is not attached to anything once the letter is cut out. Choose raised or flush letters, or a script font, to keep them.
Can I write more than one word?
Yes, up to 30 characters, including spaces.
