From the web and AR to 3D printing

GLB is the binary version of glTF, the standard for 3D on the web, augmented reality and many AI model generators. It stores materials, textures and animations, and its unit is the meter.

The converter joins every mesh of the scene into one STL, converts meters to millimeters and turns the model from Y up to Z up, the convention of 3D printing. Draco and Meshopt compressed files are supported.

Before printing

Models made for screens are often hollow surfaces or have parts that just touch. If your slicer reports errors, check that the mesh is closed and solid.

Frequently asked questions

Is the GLB to STL converter free?

Yes. You can convert files for free, without an account and without watermarks.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The model is read and converted entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.

Can I convert .gltf files too?

Yes, as long as the textures and buffers are embedded in the file. A .glb file always works because it contains everything.

Will the STL keep the colors?

No. STL only stores the shape. Colors and textures are visible in the preview but are not exported.

Why is my model so small or so large?

glTF is in meters, so the converter multiplies by 1000 to get millimeters. If the original was modeled at a different scale, adjust it in your slicer.
